Omi Gibson as L from Death Note
I’ve never seen the anime series, Death Note, but I’ve seen plenty of cosplay for it. At first glance, Omi Gibson would have me totally fooled. It’s only when she leans back that her womanly chest ruins the illusion. I guess you could call it a win-win situation?

The “Omi Gibson In Drag Halloween” series continues! This week, Omi gets her Force on as young Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: Episode IV.
Dunno who the fella is playing Han Solo, but he appears to have burned off his eyebrows. Maybe Greedo did fire first.
Omi Gibson as Bryan Fury
Now, when I said that October would be dedicated to crossplay, what I meant to say that it was devoted to Omi Gibson in crossplay. It’s just hard to find a month’s worth of really good crossplay. And as far as I’m concerned, Omi is always best.
This week, it’s Omi Gibson as Bryan Fury from the Tekken video game series. This is his primary outfit from Tekken 5. And s/he looks maaaaad.
Omi Gibson as...Snake Pliskin?
Few things get me more sexually aroused AND confused as girls dressed in “crossplay”. Omi Gibson serves up a perfect example, as I never thought I’d find myself attracted to Snake Pliskin from Escape from New York. Even if Omi bore a thick 5 o’clock shadow for this costume, it might not make a difference to me.
It is the beginning of October, which means Halloween is approaching fast! In the spirit of the holiday, I’m dedicating this week to the best samples of crossplay I can find. “Crossplay”, of course, being a cosplayer assuming the role of a character, but a version of the character that is the opposite gender. Could be scary, could be sexy… But enjoy this first taste!
Omi Gibson IS Rowdy Reiko from Rumble Roses
The first photos I ever saw of Omi Gibson in cosplay was as Rowdy Reiko from Rumble Roses. From there, I was instantly hooked, seeking out as much as I could about who Omi was and what other characters she’d done. Mostly, I was curious to see if that insane snake tattoo was real!
This is the special “swimsuit edition” of Rowdy Reiko, though Omi does a mighty fine portrayal of her canon outfit as well.
One more for fun:
Omi Gibson IS Paprika
Omi Gibson is a chameleon, able to magically transform into any character she assumes. Paprika is no different; possibly no better an example of her incredible talent. Granted, there isn’t much to Paprika’s outfit, but somehow, Omi fits the role. (I’d say it’s her eyes.)
The movie Paprika is a beautifully animated sci-fi drama directed by the same guy who did Paranoia Agent and Millennium Actress. Go rent it when you can!
I’m starting a new regular column for this site: The Cosplay of the Week. It will be–you guessed it–a new cosplay photo each week, showcasing a costume or model that I find especially awesome. Fair warning: Expect a lot of Omi Gibson shots in the mix.
That said, let’s kick this thing off right!
Omi Gibson IS Revy from Black Lagoon
This costume is possibly what Omi Gibson is most known for. Revy from Black Lagoon is a character that is “badass” personified, and Omi practically owns that style. Ironically, (as confessed in my interview with Omi) it’s quite the opposite from her true personality, which is why she loves doing those kinds of characters most.

Omi Gibson just released a gallery of her latest costume, The Baroness from GI Joe. For the first time, I find myself saying, “Mmmmm…not quite.” Omi is a chameleon when it comes to costumes, but she doesn’t quite pull it off as The Baroness. But that’s okay… I’d still hit it.
I also notice that she’s re-used the red striped corset from her fetish cat girl costume from a couple years back. It’s all forgiveable–whatever gets Omi into a black leather catsuit gets a pass!
