Highschool of the Dead is no Dawn of the Dead. It’s barely House of the Dead.
The zombie apocalypse genre is arguably played out, but its longevity can be attributed to its beautiful simplicity. There are so many stories you can tell in that setting, and only so many ways you can fuck it up. Japan finds a way to taint (see what I did there?) this otherwise robust premise with goddam fan service…an infectious blight more widespread than the T-virus.
The veil of survival horror fantasy is quickly dispelled when your series includes a scene where a rapist grips a student’s breast like a piping bag. Just sayin’.
In the Method to Madness podcast, I’m joined with my good friend Kevin “The Business” Gray to discuss great anime and video games that you should be watching as well as ones you should feel ashamed you are watching.

In re: All iconic undead are just Zombies, I disagree.
Now, Mummies and Jason Vorhees are just superzombies, but Vampires are so different that they aren’t the same class, even if humans are still the primary target.
Frank’s monster, not a Zombie, since he didn’t hunger for flesh, and he wasn’t undead in the same since, but brought fully back to life. Also, the book’s also commenting on the callousness and cruelty of a ‘loving creator’ who would so abandon its creations merely for flaws it had no control over.
But yeah, HSotD. Fanservice Zombie show. Whoo.

The more often I describe my theory of the undead, the less water it seems to hold. The most I’ve been able to find to support my theory is this Hierarchy of the Dead.

I do have a copy of the Max Brooks book, but then my brother “borrowed” it, and that was 3 years ago, and i havent seen it since.
Yea, Kenichi Sonoda likes his women with guns and atypical lesbian settings. Gunsmith Cats manga covers that pretty well (and read the end of Book 5 of burst, there is a cameo it seems of that scene in Cruel Intentions between Rally and Misty).
Yea, i heard of this anime but thought it was dumb or very skeptical of seeing it, and glad ive never seen it.

Is there a new sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-category fetish for shooting a gun between girls’ tits? Jesus Christ. I would think the recoil would be extremely painful and may break some ribs/at least bruise.
If the zombie apocolypse comes, I’m getting with the guy with largest stock of ammo and the biggest gun. OHHHH! WINK WINK.
I’ll stick with The Walking Dead, thanks.

Bow chicka WOW WOWWWWWW!!!!
In japan, they believe that womens big boobs have enough cushion and no nerves anywhere to withstand the recoil of a gun when “squeezed” next to a M-14.

Wait, karry likes HSotD, and thinks Panty and Stocking is trash?
The irony, you can cut it with a knife.
