Get to know the Method to Madness hosts as we play a couple rounds of “One, True, Three“. This party game shamelessly stolen from another podcast, Tell ‘Em Steve Dave!, found on Kevin Smith’s SModcast Network.
In this game, one of us tells three stories about himself: one true; two bogus. After each story, the other gets to ask three questions in order to test the validity of the stories. Once all stories are told and all questions are answered, the truth shall be revealed!
In the Method to Madness podcast, I’m joined with my good friend Kevin “The Business” Gray to discuss great anime and video games that you should be watching as well as ones you should feel ashamed you are watching.

When Kevin was telling the story about him working for the funeral home and the joke about coloring his face in, it reminded me of this: http://foxinter.vo.llnwd.net/o21/assets/1688195151/1688195151_6804851001_americandad-smiths-go-black-320×240.jpg?pubId=1688195151
Kevin, either this is an art or you just got lucky, but you must teach us the technique of how to fool the breathlizer. That is pretty much a once in a life time of that every happening to someone, like getting struck by lightning (only you dont die).
Plus the whole “pot in the cookies story”, if you had pot in your stomach I am sure you would be in the emergency room getting it pumped. Im pretty sure if you ingest pot it could kill you, at least I think so.

Nah, you can ingest pot… Pot brownies have been a real thing for decades. In fact, from what I’ve been told, it gives you a more intense high because of how it enters your system. It just has other risks that I can’t quite remember at the moment.

Well I kinda left that as a “correct me if im wrong” kinda thing. I just thought ingesting pot is like ingesting tobacco, which tobacco makes you fell like utter crap.
Oh yea I was thinking, is the One, True, Three game open to your commenters? I kinda thought about it at work today, but I wanted to ask before im like “hey heres all these great stories, can you guess which one is true tee hee hee :)” I didnt know if thats just dumb to try or worth a shot, I just figure i would ask.

I guess if you want to play, you can… Though I’d omit the three questions after each story. Just cuz it would take forever.
Besides, half the game is challenging the storyteller to keep a poker face and being able to maintain a lie on the fly. In comments, you have all the time in the world to construct a response and we can’t see the “tells” in your body language.
But if you have some good stories, toss ‘em up!

Ill throw out my 3 then. And instead of 3 questions you can just do one per story.
Here is my 3:
Story 1:
I got my first kiss when I was 14 when I went to Apex Middle School at the time. It was some cute blonde haired girl that I had a crush on for a while and I saw her at the dance. I was really nerves because every time I tried to talk to her in the hallway I would kinda freeze up and just say hey and walk away. I finally asked walked up to her when her friends wernt around and straight out told her if she wanted to dance, and she said yes. I probably had the happiest face in that dance. After some talking and about when “time after time” was playing, she looked at me and said “pucker up” and we kissed. That is a moment I have never forgotten and never will.
Story 2:
It was my Junior year of high school and we took a class trip to Washington DC to the Smithsonian. Well I kinda got separated from my group and hung out with another group of people that i knew in my class and I realized i wasnt with my group, so i found them in one of the rooms. The minute i get there, I get harassed by this 4’9 canadian midget (his name was Mickey, he wasnt a midget just a short guy) who up till that point he made fun of how i talked in school most of the year. At this point, i was fed up and told myself “if he makes fun of me as im walking out these doors, im gonna shove him in a wall”. Well, i was leaving into this hallway and he gets right in my face as soon as I say that to myself, and lo and behold, i put my hand on his shoulder and shove him as hard as i could, then preceded to walk out into the hallway to wait on the group. I didnt see him getting pushed in the wall but i heard him hit it. He then came out getting in my face and cussing me out, and all i told him was to bring it on. After that, he never did it much ever again.
Story 3:
I was in New York City on vacation with my parents and I noticed in one of the areas we were at there was a film being shot, which to my surprise was a Will Smith film (this was that summer before “Hitch” came out in theaters, so about 2004 I think). I told my parents I wanted to get an autograph of Will Smith if anything and made my way around to his trailer. I was greeted by a pretty big security guard guy who was watching the trailer that Smith was in pumping iron at the time. After some litigation, i was able to convince the guard that I really wanted to get an autograph of Smith more than anything. The guard went in to talk to Smith in the trailer and a couple of minutes later, there he is, WILL SMITH!!! I was freaking flipping out that i got to see this guy in person. He talked to me a few minutes and asked how I was enjoying New York so far and he told me the title of the film he was working on (but nothing beyond that much, which i understood). Will then got his security guard to snap a photo of us with my camera which was Will freaking bear hugging me with his massive arm. My parents came a bit later and he signed some stuff we bought in New York and said our good buys and told us to see his next film.

I guess I’ll ask a couple questions and then wait a while for other people to also ask before I make any guesses…
Story 1: How did things go the next time you saw this girl? Like, after the dance?
Story 2: Were you reprimanded for shoving the kid?
Story 3: What movie was he actually filming?

Your answers:
Story 1: Pretty much after that happened, we did talk in school for a couple of weeks and called each other about every night, but then I went to school one day and she had some guy all over her and I just eventually stopped talking to her. It wasnt until a couple of days later one of her friends came over to me to tell me it was over, so I was like “whatever”.
Story 2: Nothing happened to me. Id figure if anything I was going to have the Smithsonian security on me or have a teacher talk to me because it was someones mom who was leading the group. But again, nothing really happened. Plus, this kid had it coming, so I think everyone understood my situation and no one really said anything about it.
Story 3: I figured out it was Hitch because I remember looking it up online a couple of months later and I just saw ‘will smith in new york city’ and put two and two together.

I would BOMB at this game; 1) I have no titilating or shocking stories, and if I do, I’ve told everyone, 2) I CANNOT LIE WITH A STRAIGHT FACE.
Why does one of those cans say 12% ABV and the other says 11%? Are they different types?
