Little did we know that our review of Four Loko would be echoed so harshly in the news, as word of its banishment is now on the tips of every media anchor’s tongue. This week, college students in Washington danced carelessly along the banks of the River Styx, abusing this “loko” toxin; some foolishly spiking it further with additional hooch.
What tickled my dark sense of humor was that the police arriving on the scene at first believed that multiple drug-induced date rapes were in effect, when the students were all consensually getting crunked and fucked. (Okay, so that last bit didn’t rhyme as well as I’d hoped.)
While I will forever frown upon Phusion Projects for what now cannot be uninvented, I do somewhat sympathize with their response. Four Loko can be an interesting recreational experience, if consumed responsibly… These students did not act as such. They were underage and gambled in excess. They were lucky to survive and I pray this serves as a lesson to them and anyone else tempted to experiment with these 23oz chambers of horror.

My Hime might be an anime version of Highlander, if there weren’t already a Highlander anime. In the end, there can be only one, but not without laying a path of anguish. This is no game for martyrs or masochists, for the defeated in this tournament themselves lose nothing–it’s those closest to them that pay with their lives.
Sounds intense, except there are pokey-mans and a panty episode.

This podcast is like a box of chocolates. You know what you’re going to get (cuz the key is on the box, stupid), but it’s a small bounty of various delicious morsels.
Much like our 2009 recap, Kevin and I unleash a rapid fire lightning round of anime. Shows like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Astro Fighter Sunred, Katanagatori, and Lamune bear discussion, but there might not be fertile enough to draw for full podcasts individually.

Outtakes! Once the mics are fired up, so are we! Kevin and I often chase wild tangents, spin long yarns, and occasionally shove feet into our mouths. All these moments are documented, though they may not make it into the final edit of the podcast.
These moments are later culled and sewn together so that you guys can enjoy them later! For you, it’s a treat! For us, it’s rewarding our own laziness.

Finally! A new installment of Fan Service; the advice column what will hopefully arm my fellow geeks with the skills to overcome the social hurdles that defeat us so often. This time, I’m again addressing the fellas, but ladies please chime in!
Asking a person out can be a delicate art. Once you’ve broken the ice and charmed her with your personality, the moment comes to–as they say–make the sale. Luckily, I’ve discovered that one technique will greatly increase the chances of success.

Get to know the Method to Madness hosts as we play a couple rounds of “One, True, Three“. This party game shamelessly stolen from another podcast, Tell ‘Em Steve Dave!, found on Kevin Smith’s SModcast Network.
In this game, one of us tells three stories about himself: one true; two bogus. After each story, the other gets to ask three questions in order to test the validity of the stories. Once all stories are told and all questions are answered, the truth shall be revealed!
