Arcade Gamer Fubuki has taught me that Kevin and I should put better effort into researching the shows we watch before podcasting about them. And by “better”, I probably mean “some”. Cuz had we learned beforehand that Arcade Gamer Fubuki is a parody of Game Center Arashi, this show might have made a crap-ton more sense.
This is a cute little show for fans of old-school games…or of panties. Yes, it’s a panty fan service show, but it’s just below the line of excess and there’s enough legitimate humor to compensate.

And hopefully strike you down like Thor's hammer.
These children are stupid.
In the Method to Madness podcast, I’m joined with my good friend Kevin “The Business” Gray to discuss great anime and video games that you should be watching as well as ones you should feel ashamed you are watching.

Ill hear this podcast first before my nerd itch to watch any anime with video games overpowers me.
As for Nick Arcade, I cant believe i missed out on this show in the 90′s. Wait, when did this come out, because there is no way i would have missed this. Then again, maybe i did see this ages ago. Maybe one day you could do a whole podcast on this show or Nick game shows in general from the 90′s.
“The Rio Grande river separates Mexico from what country?”
“Texas”
In all honestey, ive gotta say hes sorta right on that. Texas, to me, has been its own country for the past 150 years.

1992-1993, sir!
My favorites from the video include the girl throws away money in Mystical Ninja, “Space Track”, and this:
“Out of 35 bricks, how many does he break in on minute?”
Response: 58
“Well, we thought he could break them really fast!”
What we need is Kuni’s response:

Ah, UHF is awesome.
Dah, I was like 6 or 7 at the time, and I dont think I had cable back then either, that explains it.
Yea dude, the people who said that, wernt they in a Nick show. I swear, they look really familiar.

If I’m remembering right, they played the parents in Clarissa Explains It All.
From the looks of the video, there appears to be a cable network that just plays Nickelodeon game shows.

YES!!!! That is them.
Yea, how in the harry balls of the GODS do these kids not know about the intro to Star Wars. Where does “Space Trek” come from? Even Turkish Star Wars would have been a good answer.

I didnt realize that arcades had the option to sell cigarettes to kids or “win them”. That sounds as funny as that part in Clerks when Randell gives that little girl a pack of cigs over the counter.
As for the arcade machine abuse, there is one game in particular i know Sega did a great job on the durability on, and that was the Initial D arcade cabinets. I dont know if you ever saw the “pros” do this, but in Initial D you can do whats called “machine gun shifting” which coming into a turn you shift up and down as fast as you can between 2 gears and turn the corner. People decided to do yank the thing back and forth as hard as they could and would be off the freaking seat when they turned. Its the most retarded thing you will ever see, and if you have seen this before, you know what im talking about.
I guess in japan, the people who endurance test the machines dont think how americans act when they are playing the machines.
Yea, Segata Sanshiro is the man, every Sega fanboy knows that, and had to get a Saturn to avoid the wrath of Segata.

That buzzing noise when Kevin spoke was pretty annoying, hope you figure out how to fix that.
You know from that opening thing I was ready to write this show off as garbage but you make it sound kind of interesting so now I’m conflicted. Justin Sevakis really really hated this show so I don’t know who to believe!

I think the main reason Justin hated it is because he had to subtitle it. I could see myself hating anything after spending that much time working on it.

I hope I do too! I’ve looked all around the web for a fix, and while there are others who are having the same trouble, no one’s come up with a solution that works!
I’d recently heard some other podcast (I wish I could remember) where one of the co-hosts was enjoying it. So it was on that vote that I gave it a try. I think that if it were longer than 4 episodes, my opinion would be a lot lower.

There is just some anime that is better off being one shot ova or a few episodes. Yea, this isnt a perfect anime, but with the raptors and insane arcade references, it sounds pretty balanced for what your getting.
I mean, what if MD Geist was a 26 episode series? Could any normal human being that made contact with that series have the lifespan to finish it. One 40 minute OVA was more than enough (TBH, im one of the few who liked it, but not saying its the best).

This was an old ANN “Buried Garbage” review of this anime, which is different than how you guys explained it.
